How does the Kossuth Athletics Foundation use donations?

Donations directly fund equipment, facilities, and scholarships for student athletes.

Who can contribute to the foundation?

Anyone passionate about Kossuth athletics can donate or volunteer to support our mission.

Where does the funding primarily go?

Funds are mainly allocated to improving athletic programs and supporting student athletes’ needs.

How much of my donation goes to supporting athletics at Kossuth?

97% or more of your donation goes directly to the athletic teams at Kossuth. Our board members do not take any salary, we are all volunteers. There are 2-3% transaction fees that are applied by our donation tools but donors have the option to pay for those.

What is a charitable foundation?

A charitable foundation is a nonprofit organization created to support charitable activities and causes. It typically provides funding, grants, or other resources to initiatives that promote the public good, such as education, health care, poverty relief, or community development. Charitable foundations are governed by specific regulations and are dedicated to helping others without seeking profit for themselves.

What are the benefits of investing in a charitable foundation?

Individuals and businesses who invest can take advantage of IRS tax deductions that reduces their tax liability to the federal and state governments. In some cases, the donation is 100% tax deductible.

What sports does Kossuth Athletics Foundation plan to help?

All sports teams, high school, middle school and elementary school. Teams who are competing against other schools and those that work toward regional, state and national championships.

Does Kossuth Athletics Foundation pay coaches?

NO. The IRS prohibits 501(c)3 foundations from paying any coach or staff member with funds collected by our organization. We file a tax return every year to account for money collected and spent.

What method gets more money to the teams? Fundraising or Donations

Fundraisers have lower profit margins (25% to 40%), along with selling, storing, delivering the product(s) to the buyer and collecting the money.

Donation offer annual giving or monthly giving with nothing to buy or sell and a larger profit can be return to our teams. We’ve been able to return .97 of every $1.00 collected back to the teams.

How do teams receive money from the Kossuth Athletics Foundation?

Requests should be made by email stating the need and approximate cost, along with the company quote listing the items to purchased. We must do the buying; we can’t reimburse for items already bought. If funds are available and the board approves, the purchase is made.      kossuthathleticsfoundation@gmail.com
